Thought I would do a blog post on all the animal shaped bread which I have made but not shared on my blog yet. Recently been rather busy and hence its hard to find time to sit down to type out a blog post (-_-)
Here are some black sesame koala bread buns I made after our last visit to the zoo couple of weeks ago. There are four new koalas in the Singapore Zoo and they were so cute. I mixed about 3 tbsp of black sesame powder into the bread dough mixture to get this grey shade.
The shapes are cut out using my CuteZCute cutter (be sure to dust the cutter with flour before cutting out the dough, to prevent the dough from sticking), and I used almonds for their noses. White chocolate was used to pipe out the eyes and ears. Since there were 2 koalas munching away on eucalyptus leaves during our visit, I gave these koalas here some mint leaves to munch on instead.
These zebra bread buns below were also inspired by our zoo visit. I mixed an egg yolk with half a teaspoon of bamboo charcoal powder, and then painted on the stripes, noses and eyes before baking. I felt these zebra bread buns looked kinda hilarious, but thought I would share them anyway.
These zebras also have mint leaves to munch on. 🙂
And a closer look at one of the zebra bread buns:
And here are some panda bread buns I baked several weeks ago. I mixed some bamboo charcoal powder into the bread dough to make the eyes and ears. Served with Nutella, which is an evergreen favourite spread in our household.
