It’s Valentines Day tomorrow, so will be trying to post up the leftover food art and bento which I had made for Valentines Day. I had shared some of these on my Instagram account last week.
Here is a Totoro sandwich with hummus and cream cheese, Totoro is holding an umbrella since its raining hearts! Love is indeed in the air! The hearts are cupcake sprinkles, and the umbrella made of watermelon and pretzel.
Here is a pair of kissing fish sushi, I made these for my lunch yesterday. It is one of the more complicated designs I attempted for sushi rolls, and I am glad it still came out looking like fish! LOL.
Lastly I would like to share this photo below, I attempted this swiss meringue buttercream rose cake last weekend and thought it would be pretty for Valentines Day. I decorated the cake with swiss meringue buttercream rosettes, since swiss meringue buttercream is more stable than the generic buttercream and is able to better withstand the humid temperatures here in Singapore. True enough, I left the swiss meringue buttercream in an airtight container on the counter (without refrigeration and without the air conditioning), and it was still good 24 hours later.
Sorry the piping is rather ugly when I tried filling in the tiny gaps between the roses, it was my first try making these rosettes. This was very fun though, will try again soon.
