I love dressing up my favourite characters for Christmas, and here are two which I made last week.
There is Winnie the Pooh dressed up with a Christmas Santa hat, and Piglet peeking out too. Winnie the Pooh was done with egg noodles tossed with some sesame oil, and the Christmas hat done with chopped red peppers and somen. Piglet was done with kamaboko and ham. I added some spring onions which gives a lovely flavour when tossed with the noodles.
I also made Totoro and Chibi Totoro warmly wrapped in scarves. This was done on a separate day last week. Totoro was done with soba, with cold tofu and nori added for the details. Totoro’s scarf was done with chopped red peppers too. Chibi Totoro was done with half a hard boiled egg, and his scarf made with crabstick.
I love cold soba with tsuyu (dipping sauce). It is definitely one of my favourite dishes, so yummy!
I also used some uncooked alphabet pasta to make the words “Merry Christmas” for a decorative touch.
