Peacock Cereal Art

I have been looking at a lot of food art online recently, there are so many styles I love and so inspired by many food artists! This is an experiment on food art, for today I crushed up cereal and used it to create a peacock.

I used Post Cereal’s Fruity Pebbles cereal, which contains multi-coloured cornflakes. It smells very sweet, so I wasn’t too keen to let the kids eat it. Instead I let them help to separate the cereal colours, which they found very entertaining.

Once the colours were separated it was quite fast to make this peacock as I had already sketched out an idea beforehand. I put the cereal in place using a skewer and my fingers, finished it in about half an hour. I have another cereal art which I will share next week.

Here is a shot with the cereal I used for this food art.
