Totoro cream puffs with cinnamon cream

Last week I had this huge craving for cream puffs. And there weren’t any to be sold anywhere near my office! So I decided to make my own, and since I was making them, I wanted the cream puffs to be filled with cinnamon cream instead of custard.

And ta-ta, Totoro cream puffs! Quite pleased with how these turned out. And mmmm so yummy!

Cream puffs use a choux pastry recipe, see my previous post here which shows a very simple combination of ingredients for making choux pastry.

For these Totoro cream puffs I halved the recipe, and filled the dough in a ziplock bag with the tip cut off. I then piped the shape of Totoro onto my baking sheet. The recipe made 14 Totoro cream puffs.

To make the cinnamon cream, I whipped 200ml of whipping cream with 3 tbsps of sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon until stiff peaks formed. Chill the cream until the puffs are ready to be filled.
