Little Mermaid Ariel Picture Frame Toast Art

Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend! I was experimenting with toast art again on Saturday and made this Little Mermaid (Ariel) toast art with a toast photo frame.

I drew The Little Mermaid Ariel on a slice of buttered white bread, leaving a border of about 3/4 inch around the edges of the bread. Using a 2nd slice of bread, I cut out a square from the middle of the bread, leaving a border of 3/4 inch at the edges. I toasted the “photo frame”, however looking at the end effect I should not have toasted it, and it might have a better contrast against the drawing of The Little Mermaid Ariel.

I added decorative pieces at the edges of the “photo frame”, namely a drawing of Flounder the fish and some seaweed.

All the drawing was done with chocolate sauce slightly thickened with cocoa powder, and the colouring done with tiny amounts of powdered food colouring. Do note that a very small amount of powdered food colouring can colour quite a large surface on the bread as it will adhere to the buttered surface and I would spread it slightly to blend the colour.
