Panda steamed bread (Man Tou)

I made some steamed bread (mantou or 馒头) for the kids afternoon snack. Please see my basic mantou recipe here for the details on how to make the dough and steam the bread. I left most of it plain and coloured a small batch black to make the panda’s ears, eyes and limbs, and a tiny portion green to make tiny bamboo shoots for the pandas to hold.

I also made a panda couple below, the boy panda is holding bamboo shoots to give to the girl panda, instead of giving her a bouquet of flowers. Thought this would be a cute idea for Valentines too!
