all things green

I happened to wake up early yesterday cos of Z3’s fussing, so I made these breakfast bentos for Z1 and Z2 to have before they went down to catch the school bus.

We had some pandan bread left, and its only the 2nd loaf of pandan bread we’ve ever bought, so I decided to make some animals out of this green bread. Z2 had frog sammies for her breakfast, and Z1 ended up with a little grass snake (perfect for the coming Snake Year… can’t wait for the Lunar New Year in 3 weeks time!). The frog was done with cheese and nori, the snake with nori and some bread crust for its flickering tongue. Such a pity I did not have any kaya spread in the fridge as the pandan flavours would go perfectly with the pandan bread! Oh well… They had some jam instead.

I added in some yoghurt, cheese cubes, slice of apple and a love letter each. If you’ve read some of my previous posts, I had mentioned that Z1 and Z2 are not big eaters at breakfast as they are extremely sleepy in the morning. Z3 ended up eating their yoghurt Β after the older two went to school. (The cheese cubes and apple slices retired into the fridge for snacks later in the day).
